Assessment
In Vikramgad taluka, Palghar, 10 schools faced significant challenges. They struggled with limited access to continuous and affordable power, leading to frequent outages and dark classrooms. This resulted in low attendance, demotivated teachers, and poor academic performance, further deepening the cycle of poverty and slow progress in literacy rates
Intervention
Each school received a 2KW off-grid solar system, providing a reliable source of power. Additionally, electrical fixtures were installed to ensure proper lighting within the classrooms. Furthermore, a Smart TV, specifically a 43-inch Nextview model, was provided to enhance learning experiences. These interventions aimed to alleviate the issues caused by the lack of continuous and affordable power, thereby improving attendance, motivation among faculty, and academic performance.
Impact
In Palghar’s schools, the impact is evident. With reliable power from solar systems, classrooms are brightly lit, fostering better learning environments. Smart TVs engage students with visual aids, enhancing their understanding of concepts. Consequently, attendance has improved, teachers are more motivated, and school performance is on the rise.
