Assessment
In Sambarpada village, life is tough due to a few big problems. First, there’s not always electricity, making it hard to do things. Second, there’s not enough water for farming, so it’s tough to grow crops. Third, getting clean drinking water is a challenge, which can make people sick. Also, when it gets dark, the roads and schools become unsafe because there aren’t enough lights. All these problems make it hard for the village to grow and for people to live comfortably.
Intervention
Several interventions have been implemented to improve living conditions and promote development. These include the installation of 5 HP submersible pumps with solar systems and a 900m HDPE pipeline to ensure continuous water supply for agriculture. Additionally, household water filters have been provided to ensure access to clean drinking water. To alleviate the issue of darkness, portable home lighting systems and solar street lights have been installed to enhance safety and visibility during the night. Moreover, solar off-grid systems, each of 350W, have been set up for Sambarpada schools to ensure uninterrupted power supply for educational activities. A smart TV has been provided for engagement and educational purposes, further empowering the community with modern tools for learning and development.
Impact
The intervention in Sambarpada has brought about transformative change. Now, farmers are able to produce and sell their organic vegetables, grains, and fruits in the market, earning a profit from it. They can work even after dark, which has increased their productive hours. With access to clean drinking water, their health has improved. The electrification of the school has increased attendance, making children more active and attracted to digital education. This has made the learning process very interesting and has increased student enrollment and productivity.
